Eastern addressed the following question: “How can we prepare ourselves for radical changes in the way we teach and learn?” The two-year process had three phases: Phase One included research into institutions and individuals who could serve as resources for an initial retreat. Phase Two was a retreat at the IHM Spirituality Center of Immaculata College, after which faculty members completed a one-page personal plan for changing their ways of relating to one another and for consulting outside resources for help. Phase Three included faculty reflecting on their progress, identifying needs, and preparing reports for reviewers.
