McCormick’s project grew out of faculty discussions about being both Reformed and ecumenical. The first part of the project was a retreat in which the faculty learned more about one another, about their individual faith journeys, and about how those traditions shape the way they teach. The second part of the project addressed the need to know more about the students’ ecclesial traditions. McCormick began inviting leaders from various denominations to come and describe what a well-formed candidate for ministry looks like in that tradition and what those expectations mean for preparation at McCormick.
